Phuket Elephant Sanctuary | Ethical tourism in THAILAND

Phuket Elephant Sanctuary is the first ethical sanctuary on Phuket Island.
It's home for some overtired elephants who have suffered from working in the logging and tourism industry. Sick, injured and old elephants are rescued and rehabilitate into forest life. Each elephant here has its own sad life story. Riding and bathing with elephants is completely forbidden. You can only feed the giants. Watermelons, pineapples, bananas & cucumbers – elephants love them all. This sanctuary is set on 30 acres of lush tropical jungle. We met here some really devoted people. We were impressed and we want to share our experience.
