Brightline Construction in Palm Bay and Melbourne - February 2021

Brightline Construction in Palm Bay and Melbourne - February 2021 In this update, I take a look at the railroad construction progress around Palm Bay and Melbourne being done as part of the Brightline phase 2 expansion to Orlando.

I start by looking at recently rebuilt crossings at Hessey Avenue and Jernigan Avenue.

I then take a look at the Crane Creek Bridge where work on the temporary work trestle is almost complete. Crews should begin installing the first half of the new double track bridge shortly.

I then look at progress in downtown Melbourne, signals and crossover construction at NASA Blvd, and right of way preparations at Babcock Street.

I end with a look at the Eau Gallie River bridge. Crews just finally cleared the worksite here for the imminent arrival of the crane. I also give a look at the existing bridge for historical documentation purposes.

This was filmed the week of February 8, 2021.
