For So Long By Andy Gibb Feat. The Bee Gees For So Long By Andy Gibb Feat. The Bee Gees

For so long
You and me been finding each other for so long
And the feeling that i feel for you is more then strong , girl
Take it from me
If you give a little more then you're asking for
Your love will turn the key
Darling mine
I would wait forever for those lips of wine
Build my world around you , darling
This love will shine girl
Watch it and see
If you give a little more then you're asking for
Your love will turn the key

I , i just want to be your ev'rything
Open up the heaven in your heart and let me be
The things you are to me and not some puppet on a string
Oh , if i stay here without you , darling , i will die
I want you laying in the love i have to bring
I'd do anything to be your ev'rything

Darling for so long
You and me been finding each other for so long
And the feeling that i feel for you is more then strong girl
Take it from me
If you give a little more then you're asking for
Your love will turn the key

I , i just want to be your ev'rything
Open up the heaven in your heart and let me be
The things you are to me and not some puppet on a string
Oh, if i stay here without you , darling , i will die
I want you laying in the love i have to bring
I'd do anything to be your everything

Andy Gibb Biography

He was a big heartthrob of the 1970s but Andy Gibb was never actually a Bee Gee. Discover the life of the youngest of the brothers Gibb, who had amazing pop success but died young.

Satin-jacketed teen pop sensation Andy Gibb had three number one hits in the United States by the time he was 21. Nine years later, he was dead.

Andrew Roy Gibb was born into a musical family whose parents moved continents to follow their children's careers. By the time he was ten years old, his brothers Robin, Maurice and Barry -- the Bee Gees -- were already world famous pop stars.

There was talk that Gibb would join the Bee Gees but instead he went solo. His performance debut was at the age of 13 at a tourist club on the Spanish island of Ibiza. The show was a success and he began appearing at the club on a regular basis. It was not long before he got his first paying job in the music business and began to write his own songs. He moved to Australia in 1975 to attempt to forge a musical career. He was still a teenager when people started to take serious notice of the baby Bee Gee.

He married his girlfriend, Kim in 1976, and almost immediately flew to Florida to begin working on songs with his brother Barry. This resulted in the album 'Flowing Rivers' (1977), and Gibb's first three singles, 'I Just Want to Be Your Everything' (co-written with brother Barry), 'Thicker Than Water' and 'Shadow Dancing', flew up the charts, making Gibb an overnight sensation. The Andy Gibb star was shining brightly, and it seemed nothing could go wrong.

However in 1978, Kim and Gibb were divorced, even though Kim was pregnant. The pressures and temptations of the music business were turning Gibb's head, and Kim returned to Australia to give birth to Peta Jaye, their daughter. Meanwhile, ten more hits followed for Gibb, cementing his success. This hot streak began to cool down by 1980.

In 1981, he embarked on a whirlwind romance with actress Victoria Principal, but only a year later, it came to an end. By this time, Andy was in the throes of a full-blown drug addiction. Gibb attempted to kick his cocaine habit after spending time at the famous Betty Ford Clinic in 1985. Relapsing soon after, and attempting once more to kick the habit by checking into another rehab centre in 1987, he stayed clean for the latter year of his life. He returned to England, and was due to start recording music again in the spring of 1988.

However, he was admitted to a hospital in Oxford for observation after complaining of stomach pains. On 10 March 1988, he died from myocarditis - an inflammation of the heart muscle caused by a viral infection.
