Footslogging into Hell: The German Infantryman in Russia: Part I This is the story of the German foot soldier (Landser) during the opening stages of the invasion of the Soviet Union. Operation Barbarossa will mark the high tide of the Germany Military (Wehrmacht), but it will also mark the beginning of its epic decline toward annihilation.
