Achieve A Downstream Drift With A Dry Fly

This week’s RIO Fly Fishing Tip shows how to achieve a drag free drift while fishing a dry fly downstream. The downstream dry fly is an excellent technique when targeting a specific fish in a river, as it allows the angler to stand upstream of the fish - ensuring the first thing to reach the fish is the fly, not the fly line or leader and, therefore reduce the chance of spooking it.
