Breaking 101: How Street Dance Complements the Power of Climbing Part 4

Breaking 101: How Street Dance Complements the Power of Climbing Part 4 Breaking (commonly known to many as breakdancing) is an athletic style of street dance started in the 1970s in Bronx NY. This class will be an introduction for a creative dynamic style that will be sure to complement the power and dynamics in climbing. While we are all taking this time away from the gym, lets work on antagonist muscle groups and enjoy the flavor of other movement practices. This class will help build versatile strength, coordination, rhythm, and mind body awareness for the climber. NO EXPERIENCE REQUIRED.
About the Instructor: Graduating with his Doctorate in Physical Therapy, Harnoor Singh has been studying movement from a multitude of angles for the past decade. His love for movement began with hip hop dance where he studied a variety of styles including popping, locking, trumping, breaking, and many more. One movement practice lead to another until Harnoor found himself in the climbing gyms of Philadelphia. Harnoor has been teaching hip hop for the past 3 years and is excited to bring the flavor, power, coordination, and dynamics of hip hop dance to an equally dynamic sport like climbing. “We have learned time and time again that cross training is the key to an injury prevention program.” Harnoor is also a Youth Coach at Tufas Boulder Lounge.
