Coronavirus: Excess deaths suggest a higher mortality rate than official figures

Although official figures report the number of coronavirus-related deaths at over 19,000, there has been a spike in the number of 'excess deaths'.

These account for the deaths of people who have not been officially diagnosed with COVID-19 and these figures suggest that the mortality rate could be substantially higher than those reported so far.
