Australia must 'push back to bullying by Communist China'

Australia must 'push back to bullying by Communist China' Former Defence head of China analysis Paul Monk says the Communist Party of China "doesn't do statistical truth well" and is "not transparent" on the domestic coronavirus figures it's reporting.

Speaking with Sky News host Chris Kenny he said, "we simply do not have data that we can take at face value" to come out of the communist party on figures relating to COVID-19.

"You don’t get that out of China when it’s in crisis".

He also said the communist party is now "threatening to derail the economic relationship" with Australia.

On Monday, China’s Ambassador Cheng Jingye had warned of a potential economic hit to Australia if it does not back down from a push into the communist state’s handling of the coronavirus.

"If they're prepared to seek to bully us, economically, over a matter that's of global, common concern, then we need to work with others to push them back into a corner".

"Because this simply can't work".
